Example: Say you’re making a product to sell to lawyers. If you know a lawyer, ask if he and some friends of his would like an early preview. And give him access to parts of your contact list.

This works really well, but ensure the arrangement is mutually beneficial.

If A connects you to B, do not invite B to an event without inviting A. Never forget the connector!

  • You and the other must have an equal relationship. Both give as much as they get.
  • You must be able to trust your partners. You are vouching for them. Your reputation is at stake.
  • Never give anyone access to your whole list. This is a transaction. Don’t be too generous.
